I was at the Breakout Session that you and Liz did regarding JFON. Over the summer I took a new job as a school counselor at the Van Buren Technology Center in Lawrence. Several of my students are Hispanic and as I was working with one student a couple of weeks ago we were looking into post-secondary options but kept running into the problem of her not having proper documentation. She would love to go to a community college but does not have a social security number. I don't know if she would even be eligible for one but I do know when I help kids with college applications they always need a social security number. I will have the opportunity to talk to several colleges tomorrow so I'll ask them if they have any suggestions, but have you ever run into this and do you have any suggestions?
